Huang Ming-Chun’s oil painting Dialogue has been officially shortlisted for the ART021 × LACMA Acquisition Fund!
由零等於一藝術集團（ART021 GROUP）與洛杉磯郡立藝術博物館（LACMA）聯合發起的 ART021 × LACMA Acquisition Fund 購藏計畫，旨在促進國際頂尖藝術機構對亞洲及亞裔離散社群當代藝術的收藏。在今年 ART021 藝術博覽會上百件展出的傑出作品中，臺灣藝術家黃敏俊的油畫創作《對話》脫穎而出，正式入選十多件獲提名的最終購藏候選名單。
值得關注的是，本次獲選的十多件入圍作品中，多數為當代影像與裝置藝術，架上繪畫僅有 4 至 5 件。黃敏俊憑藉其多年深耕「光色合一」與獨特視覺語言的繪畫作品《對話》，成功在強敵環伺中佔據重要席次，實屬不易。
藝術家黃敏俊長期致力於光影、色彩與空間雕塑的哲理探討。本次《對話》榮獲提名，不僅肯定了其個人的創作高度，更象徵著華人當代架上繪畫再次跨越國界，站上世界級藝術機構與國際美術館的視野焦點。期許作品順利典藏，續寫華人當代藝術在國際藝壇的新篇章。
Initiated by ART021 GROUP in partnership with the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA), the ART021 × LACMA Acquisition Fund aims to enhance the representation of contemporary art from Asian and Asian diaspora communities within the collections of leading global art institutions. Among hundreds of outstanding works presented at this year's ART021 Art Fair, Taiwanese artist Huang Min-Chun's oil painting Dialogue stood out, earning a prestigious spot on the shortlist of over a dozen nominated works.
Notably, the vast majority of the shortlisted entries consist of contemporary video and installation art, with traditional canvas paintings accounting for only 4 to 5 spots. Securing a place among these select few highlights the exceptional strength of Dialogue, a work built upon Huang’s years of dedicated exploration into his signature visual language and the synthesis of light and color.
HUANG Ming-Chun has long explored the philosophical intersections of light, color, and spatial form. The nomination of Dialogue not only affirms his artistic achievement but also marks a significant moment for Chinese contemporary canvas painting, bringing it back into the spotlight of top-tier international institutions. It is hoped that the work will be officially acquired, turning a new page for Chinese contemporary art on the global stage.
