LIU Shin-Yi

1992    年出生於台灣／台北       
2014    畢業於國立臺灣藝術大學雕塑系

孤獨帶著一絲落寞，而時間忘了向前，好比被遺忘的孩子，或坐或臥，時而抬頭望向遠方尋求一線希望，抑或低頭闔上雙眼沈靜心靈。一股哀傷、脆弱的神情展露在女孩的面容。 那是內心世界的反差與矛盾，如同小時候的我們都妄想長大，卻在長大後渴望回到當初。劉欣宜的雕塑，留下清楚的鑿刻，像是生命中一刀一刀磨練的痕跡，如此深刻、毫無保留，添上甜美爛漫的色彩，宛如在成長的過程，那些試圖掩蓋、偽裝，不輕易展露真實的自我的保護色。 女孩憂愁失望的臉龐，意味著成長中初衷與期待相互牴觸、拉扯的結果，最後選擇將最初的形象退到底線，保留美好天真的狀態來抵抗這世界。

Alone and lonely, time stands still, like a forgotten child, sitting or lying down, sometimes looking up far into the distance, hoping against hope, sometimes closing eyes silently and quietly, the girl seems sad and fragile.  It is the contrast and contradiction of one’s inner world, just like little children wish to grow up and the grown hope to get back to childhood. Leaving clear chisel marks, Liu Shin-Yi’s sculptures look like every track of life, so deep, without covering up, while adding on beautiful sweet colours, they look as if the protective colours for hiding real-self during the growing stage.  The sad, desperate face means a result of the conflict between her initial dream and anticipation.  At last, drawing back the original real-self, she chooses to retain the beautiful innocent form to face the world.

近期作品 Recent works

作品《北極星》承載藝術家童年的記憶：母親說父親化作北極星，永遠守護著她。成長後再聽見同名歌曲，更觸發她以作品呈現守護意象。作品以披風象徵夜空，挖洞透光如繁星，再現童年躲在毯子下看見星空的感受，傳遞黑夜中不孤單的守護力量。

The work Polaris carries the artist’s childhood memory: her mother once said that her father had become the North Star, watching over her forever. Years later, upon hearing a song with the same title, she was inspired to create a work embodying the idea of protection. A cloak symbolizes the night sky, with cut-out holes glowing like stars, recalling her childhood memory of hiding under a blanket and seeing the light shine through like a sky full of stars—conveying the comforting presence of guardianship even in the darkest night.

在見到櫻花瓣隨風飄落的景象時，外界的時間在繼續而我的時間彷彿被靜止，連呼吸都忘了的看著眼前的美景。

這件作品是因看見櫻吹雪那樣撼動內心的美而凝滯。

我希望能做出那種心靈在一瞬間被點亮的感覺。

Upon seeing cherry blossoms drifting in the wind, external time seemed to continue while her own time stood still—she even forgot to breathe as she gazed at the beauty before her.
This work was born from the overwhelming beauty of sakura fubuki that suspended her heart in awe.
She hopes to capture the sensation of a soul illuminated in an instant.

作品《擁》源於仙台「森林之都」的啟發，藝術家以葉片衣裳環繞身體，姿態如輕撫耳際，靜聆樹葉婆娑，象徵與自然緊密相擁，回歸原初綠意懷抱的想像。

The work Enfold was inspired by Sendai, known as the “City of Trees.” The artist imagines herself clothed in leaves, gently brushing her hand by the ear, quietly listening to the rustling foliage. It symbolizes an intimate union with nature, a return to the primordial embrace of verdant life.

在深遠湛藍的天空下，呼吸著清冷的空氣，在蕭瑟的秋風中擁著，入冬之前最後一抹陽光碎片般的秋意，入眠。

Under the deep and vast azure sky, I breathe in the cool air. In the desolate autumn breeze, I fall asleep with the last rays of autumn sunlight before winter arrives.

回憶  Memory

一夜醒來，晨曦映照著的雪白像極了鬆軟的棉被。被褥下包裹著的，是堆積起的時間，是冰冷卻又溫暖的念想。 ＿ 劉欣宜

Awakening one morning, the snow lit by dawn resembled a soft, white quilt. Beneath that covering lies accumulated time—cold, yet tender with warmth and remembrance.

當有一天，我們能不帶刺的坦率擁抱，

當有一天，我們能鬆開手並祝福目送，

那個對象也許是某個重要的人。也許是自己。

不彆扭的敞開心扉與之相擁，離別之時放手讓他飛翔，飽含著溫柔等待再次擁抱的那天。

如果能如此，應該是最自由且美好的愛吧。

If one day, we can hug each other freely not stingingly.

If one day, we can bless and gaze after when someone lives.

The person may be someone important, or may be myself.

Embrace someone with open-mindedness rather than contrariness; let him or her flies and expect the day that we meet each other again with tears and sweetness.

If so, it may be the freest and the most wonderful kind of love. — Liu Shin-Yi
